Known as "West Koyasan", it is located in the southeast of the Shikoku Mountains at the top of Tairyuji Temple with an altitude of 618 meters. Due to the rugged mountain road, Tairyuji Temple is the third most difficult temple to visit in the country. The other two are Shaoshan Temple and Helin Temple.
Tairyuji Temple left many footprints of Kukai when he was young, and it is also the best place to study the life of Kobo Daishi. In ancient times, it was very difficult to climb up to Tairyuji Temple. Nowadays, there is a cable car running the total distance of 2,775 meters, taking about 10 minutes to get there. It is the largest cable car in Western Japan, and each car can accommodate 101 people. It is quite rare to find a cable car that crosses two mountains like this one does.
It is famous throughout Japan for its ability to eliminate disasters and overcome difficulties. It was built by the monk Gyoki in the 3rd year of Kamiki (726) based on the decree of Emperor Shomu. Immediately after entering the temple, you are faced with the "Zhae Slope" with a slope of more than 45 degrees. This is the characteristic of Yaowang Temple. The male slope is level 42, the female slope is 33rd level, and the children's slope is 13th level. Believers who want to get rid of bad luck will prepare 1 yen or 5 yen in advance and place the money on each level.Reciting the holy name of Medicine Master Glazed Light Tathagata, reciting the Buddha's name sincerely and giving money to make offerings can get rid of all bad luck.

The center of Shikoku is traversed by the Shikoku Mountains, which creates slight differences in the natural environment and culture between the north and the south. Facing the Seto Inland Sea to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south, you can enjoy local delicacies made from seafood caught in different characteristic sea areas.
In addition, each prefecture has its own local ramen, and it is also a highly famous udon mecca in the country. The prevalence of noodle culture is also one of the characteristics of the Shikoku region.
